JazzWest.com is the largest, most popular independent website for all things jazz in Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area since its debut in the spring of 1999.

As the site's owner, editor and publisher, I'm responsible for strategic direction as well as site design and content development (along with all the administrative duties that come with owning and managing a small online business). 

The current site features News and Feature articles, a live jazz calendar, photo galleries, blogs, a free directory of local musicians and groups, a database of live jazz venues, and more.

The site has enjoyed one major site redesign (in 2001), and earlier this year began offering online advertising.

The current design reflects a functional approach that serves to emphasize brand identity and content over design "bells and whistles" that often detract from other popular music-related websites.
